Portland, OR and Lincoln City, OR November 2011
It's a sunny day in Albany as I head out for Thanksgiving in Oregon.
My parents' new bichon, Ozzy, looks just like their old one, Toby, RIP.
I get the vacation started off well with a beatdown in cribbage.
Ozzy was scared of me for nearly the entire time I was there.
My dad gets revenge.
Ozzy isn't sure of me, but is intrigued.
Another win for me.
A win for my dad.
The food carts on SE Belmont in Portland. Why yes, it is raining.
My brother and I hit up Viking Soul Food - it was awesome.
I lost by one stinkin' point.
Whenever I went up the stairs to my old room, Ozzy followed me.
Another loss for me.
I got skunked.
I got skunked again.
The beach house my mom's family rented in Lincoln City was close to the ocean.
It was a great choice since it had a big family room attached to an open kitchen.
The Pacific Ocean.
The Pacific Ocean.
The Pacific Ocean.
The Pacific Ocean.
The Pacific Ocean.
My uncle forced me to be white and beat me.
A win for me.
The bunk room where I slept. My bed is in the lower right. My aunt's brother slept in the far bed while my aunt and uncle slept in an adjacent room. My bed was too soft and they all snored.
The ocean as viewed from the deck.
The Pacific Ocean.
The Pacific Ocean.
The Pacific Ocean.
The Pacific Ocean.
A loss for me.
The ocean at Depoe Bay.
My brother is on the look-out for whales. We didn't see any.
Rough surf.
The famous Depoe Bay whale watching center. We saw some sea lions through the binoculars.
The Oregon Coast has a cool coastline.
A lighthouse near Cobble Beach.
A big ol' rock.
The gray blobs are sea lions. They stayed on the rock the whole time we were there.
Sea life in the tide pools.
A starfish.
More tide pool action.
More tide pool action.
A cool shot of the sun setting.
Rough surf.
Lots of rocks.
The sound of the waves crashing is one of the most relaxing sounds to me.
I squeezed out a victory though the Beavers did not.
A solid win for me.
A narrow loss.
I spent a lot of time walking on the beach.
Another ocean shot.
Another ocean shot.
My dad barely avoided the skunk.
Unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky.
I get sent back to Albany with a loss.
